Seeking advice! ! There are currently three Toledo M420PH meters, and a phenomenon that has not occurred before is happening: the pH value is normal at around 8 in the morning and afternoon, but it rises to around 11 at noon; it seems to be related to the temperature! But it hasn’t happened before; the medium is something like condensate water, and the temperature is around thirty degrees or so! Dear colleagues, how should this be resolved!
All pH meters come with temperature compensation; check whether there is any issue with the temperature sensor, as the pH value of the same medium varies at different temperatures
OP, are all three of your Mettler Toledo pH meters having the same issue? Temperature does affect the pH value of the medium, but not to such an extent as the poster mentioned. Condensate water that is normally slightly alkaline can turn out to be highly alkaline when measured at noon. Did the poster take samples at noon and measure them with another pH meter? Personally, I think there’s a low possibility that there’s a problem with the gauge, and it’s also possible that the composition of the process condensate has changed.
The water quality can be analyzed; it’s not necessarily a problem with the instruments. By comparing online analyses with those conducted in the laboratory, the true cause can be identified
The changes are so significant; it’s likely that the temperature is causing changes in water quality. Go to the quality control laboratory for testing, and check whether there are any issues near the sampling site. Mm-hmm, for example, if someone poisons something……
