Everyone, I’m facing a problem: the vortex flow meter in use communicates via FF protocol, and occasionally it shows a communication error. The cables connecting the sensor and the transmitter are quite long, so I installed them in a looped configuration; however, the manufacturer said this is not allowed. What do you all think? The alarm will be triggered by circular motion
This cable of yours should not be the problem; communication failures are usually caused by issues with the communication circuit board. Try swapping it with another flow meter to see if that helps. If it’s a problem with the orange cable, I guess it should be reported as a sensor failure.

The length of the cables connecting the sensors and transmitters has no impact on communication (but with so many coils, the choice of connection cables is certainly not appropriate). The communication module for the bus is located inside the transmitter, but the orange bus cable should be as short as possible; therefore, no more than what’s necessary for one coil should be left as a coil – everything else should be cut off. The connections of the bus cable must be handled carefully, as even a tiny burr on the shielding mesh that comes into contact with the signal wires (metal to metal) can cause communication problems.
This is an E+H flow meter that allows the current value to be output in case of a fault; this way, the 4–20mA signal output remains unaffected. If the panel on site reports a fault, let it do so. I have several flow meters here that behave in the same way – they often report faults, but restarting them resolves the issue. The manufacturer tried to fix it several times without success, then came up with various excuses.

What you’re saying is very amateurish; claiming that the length of the cable has nothing to do with communication shows that you don’t even understand communication reduction.
