A 2000 m2 liquid ammonia spherical tank was installed. It is necessary to install ammonia toxic gas detectors. One has been installed at each of the inlet and outlet at the bottom of the spherical tank, and one on the platform at the top. However, during the safety review, it was stated that the location was inappropriate and the quantity was insufficient, requiring corrections. Please, those who have done it before, help out.
This should have been designed by the design institute during the design phase; if it doesn’t meet the standards, it’s recommended to consult the design institute. If it was done by oneself, then check the specific requirements and regulations.
The bottom height is 0.5 meters, and the top of the tank is around 2 meters; one toxic gas detector is installed at each location.
First, it is necessary to know the size of the tank. Toxicity sensors are installed at the area where the flanges are located; the sensors at the bottom of the tank should generally be above the bottom of the tank itself, as ammonia is light and rises upward.
Well, if it’s up to me, I’d design one; two isn’t even enough.
