The capillary problem regarding remote pressure transmission

I really want to figure out one thing... what exactly is a capillary used for? ? It turns out that I always thought the capillary tube was added due to the conditions at the installation site – the temperature being too high. Adding a few meters of capillary tube served to protect the electronic components inside the gauge from the effects of high temperatures. Additionally, since the space at the installation site was limited, the capillary tube was used to move the gauge to a location that was more suitable for maintenance. But when I went to a new factory, I found that all the pressure transmitters came with capillaries. A 1-meter capillary tube does increase the cost of the instrument. On the contrary, all differential pressure level gauges use a pressure guide tube format, allegedly to save money. I was completely confused in an instant. Was it the instrument engineer who worked on the construction earlier who was careless, or was my understanding from the very beginning incorrect? !
Looking at the medium selection, in a word, using capillaries for all pressure applications is definitely a problem
For media such as acids and bases, capillarity should be considered in the case of strong corrosion. If capillaries are also used for water pressure, it’s just a waste of money.
