Could an expert please explain whether safety-type pressure gauges are used in the petrochemical industry? Is it possible to keep it confidential? What is a safety pressure gauge? What’s the difference from ordinary Bourdon tube pressure gauges?
A safety pressure gauge does not mean it will not leak; rather, it means that when the internal spring tube bursts, the fluid will be ejected from the back of the gauge, thereby preventing injury to people. The EN837 standard refers to it as a safety back cover, while the American ASME standard calls it a solid front with pressure relief back. When the cost is high, safety requirements are present, or the pressure level is high, a safety-type version should be chosen; of course, pressure gauges used for low-pressure measurements do not have a safety version
I’m not sure if it’s mandatory, but in our petrochemical industry, safety-rated pressure gauges are generally used; It has nothing to do with leak prevention and security, right? I haven’t seen any parameters related to fluid leakage in the samples ; As I understand it, the gauge glass is of a safety type ; Anything equipped with safety glass can be called a safety pressure gauge; it seems to have nothing to do with whether it uses a Bourdon tube or not.

What if there’s no one around on that day, and you feel the urge to pee; you run behind the pressure gauge to get a water gun.............. By chance, the pressure gauge breaks, and hot oil sprays out, scalding your water gun into a sausage, right? :Lol, safety is shit, your bird.
Drill a hole in the back cover and insert a plug – does that make the pressure gauge a safety-type pressure gauge? ,,,, It’s fucking boring. . . Those with holes are called sow-type pressure gauges; I think they’re used both in China and abroad. Those without holes are called virgin-type pressure gauges – isn’t that better?
The pressure gauge housing isn’t completely sealed – can air and water get in? And if the Bourdon tube really breaks, will all the gaps allow air and liquid to leak through? Just drilling a hole on the back of the housing – what’s the point of that? What’s the use of a safety pressure gauge when it doesn’t provide any real safety at all? ......
