First of all, has your project conducted process safety analyses such as Hazop and LOPA, as well as Independent Protection Layer analysis (IPL)? Do the interlock circuits require a SIL rating? If so, what level is required for the SIF?
As is well known, major hazard sources require manufacturers to include corresponding markings.
Valves used in Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) require certification according to the corresponding Safety Integrity Level SIL. Ordinary control valves do not require safety instrument functions, so SIL certification is not necessary. If it is involved in the safety circuit, authentication is absolutely required. Here, we use solenoid valves with SIL certification to be installed on the control valves. Of course, this is a bit of a gray area; strictly speaking, the actuator, valve body, and positioner all need to be certified.
The leakage level of the control valve does not reach grade 6; even when the valve is closed, it cannot be fully shut off. How can safety be ensured?
