Everyone, does a high-purity hydrogen pressure gauge require oil exclusion? I seek advice from experts everywhere!
Does high-purity hydrogen react with this oil?
From what I remember, hydrogen pressure gauges are oil-free!
For applications where oil exclusion is required, valve fittings that involve hydrogen at certain pressure levels need to be treated specially; they differ from ordinary instrument fittings. I work with hydrogen valves and fittings, so we can discuss this further.
It’s a simple question: why does a tank truck have a tail attached to it? It’s that oil and metal walls tend to generate static electricity. Hydrogen pipelines are most sensitive to static electricity. So banning oil makes sense.
