Could you tell me what specifications are used for the 4–20mA instrument cables? Has anyone used ZR-KVVPR cables for instruments, and how is that experience?
Here, we use ZR-KVVRP for all instrument signal cables; available in 2*1.5, 3*1.5, and 8*1.5 configurations, including those used in DCS and SIS systems. We have not used KVVPR before; the ‘K’ designation refers to the control cable series. If it is a shielded flexible cable, it should be similar to KVVRP. Some cable manufacturers use rather chaotic naming conventions for their products

The selection of cables depends on many factors such as the transmission distance, explosion-proof environment, fire protection requirements, capacitive reactance and inductive reactance requirements, as well as the cable routing environment.
KVVPR has total shielding, while KVVRP has partial shielding; there is a difference
The KVVRP we purchased is fully shielded; I’m not familiar with KVVPR. I’ve seen computer cables that are double-shielded, but I’ve never used control cables with such shielding
Normally, RP1.5 square is sufficient
Things like DDZC-DJYP3VP3(B), YP, VP – it’s hard to tell them apart.
The regular DJYVP is 1*2*1.5mm2; for those with flame-retardant requirements, use ZR version, and for high-temperature resistance, there are special versions

Single-core wires are usually 2*1.5 or 3*1.5, with wire diameters of 1.0mm2 and 1.5mm2, depending on the distance between the locations. Generally, for a distance of over 200 meters from the factory, 1 mm2 is sufficient. It’s better to use 1.5mm2, as it results in lower impedance and less voltage drop. Don’t worry about the cable model; they vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Submit your request and have the manufacturer provide you with the models.
