Need help: how to replace a turbine flow meter

The original liquid turbine was connected to a PLV; there were 3 wires connecting the two – one for 24V power, one for the signal, and one for GND. Now the flow meter is broken, and a new one has been installed. However, this new flow meter outputs a collector signal, i.e., OC. The meter itself is powered by 24V, and it also has two terminals: OC+ and OC-. I’m not sure how to handle this situation; any advice would be appreciated.
Go to “PLV”? PLC, no pictures?
My suggestion is to change the wiring: use a four-wire system at the PLC, and provide separate power supply for the field instruments.
GND is the common ground line, right? Just connect the 24 loads’ OC- terminals together and tie them to GND, isn’t that it?
