1. Before installation, remove the rods, fillers, rubber bands, etc., used for protecting the flow meter during transportation, so as to change the position of the float. Check the operating condition of the converter; if anything appears abnormal, make adjustments accordingly. 2. The flow meter should be installed vertically on a vibration-free pipeline, with the inclination of the measurement tube kept below 5°. A bypass should also be provided to facilitate maintenance and cleaning without disrupting production. 3. When installing the flow meter, it should be carefully calibrated using a level; no stress should be applied during assembly. For vertically installed rotor flow meters, the flow direction of the medium is from bottom to top, while for horizontally installed rotor flow meters, the flow direction must be consistent with the direction indicated on the meter. For ease of use and maintenance, it is generally required to install a valve assembly. 4. In remote-transmission type metal rotor flowmeters, the remote transmission mechanism relies on magnetism to couple with the rotor; if the medium contains small particles that can be attracted by magnetic substances, the rotor is prone to wear and jamming, resulting in inaccurate measurements or no measurement at all. The solution is to install a magnetic filter in front of it. 5. A valve should be installed upstream of the flow meter, and a flow control valve should be installed 5 to 10 times the diameter of the instrument downstream thereof. 6. There is no strict requirement for the length of the straight pipe section upstream of the instrument, but some manufacturers require that the location where the flow meter is installed should have a straight pipe section of ≥5DN at the inlet, and a straight pipe section of no more than 250 mm or a length of (2-5)D at the outlet; however, this is not really necessary.
