Regarding the tuning of incremental PID parameters

I have been working on PID optimization recently, and when using an incremental PID, I found that the proportional term differs from that in conventional PIDs – it acts on the change in deviation. Experts, is there any good way to set parameters?
Kp* = (e(n) – e(n-1)) represents the proportional action: when the controlled variable decreases, this action causes the valve to open; when the controlled variable increases, it causes the valve to close. This has nothing to do with the set value. I’m a bit confused
