Can DCS and SIS share a UPS power supply?
They can be shared; two sets of UPS are required

This is from 2013... Times are changing, and so are the requirements; perhaps subsequent regulations were issued in various places after the Xiangshui incident
Is 1 mains power supply + 1 UPS sufficient?
Are there any specific documents or relevant standards?
Now, Jiangsu requires that the GDS system be independent of the DCS and also need its own UPS power supply. So, how many UPS units are needed? I really don’t see the purpose of doing this! If SIS and DCS are also powered by dual UPS systems, it’s not clear how many sets of UPS are needed for power supply.
There’s nothing that can be done about this; that’s just the way things are in China. Many regulations aren’t clearly defined, and local regulations add further obstacles. What’s even more absurd is that often it’s just the opinion of an expert that matters. If you don’t do this, you won’t be able to pass the safety assessment... We’re currently going through the preliminary procedures for the project; it’s taken over a year just to get the safety assessment approved... :(
It needs to come from the main power supply; mains power won’t work
Actually, it can be adapted. If the existing UPS has limited load capacity, add another set of UPS. If the existing UPS has sufficient power, a separate circuit can be divided from it.
