In today’s society, electricity has become an essential part of daily life; to use electricity, it must be transmitted through cables. Moreover, the standard models of cables vary, which requires careful control of product dimensions and models during production. As well as real-time measurement of the products after production. For cables under 70 mm in diameter, a single-diameter measuring instrument is usually used. This instrument is installed on a fixed path, and the cables produced are passed through it in order to measure their diameter. Since some cable products have insulators on their exterior, it is also necessary to measure the thickness of these insulators. In most cases, what is measured is simply the diameter of the cable including the insulator; a single-diameter measuring instrument can be used for such measurements as long as the measurement range does not exceed 700 mm. This instrument uses an object-side telecentric optical path and imaging method for online dimension detection. The core component of the detection system is the photoelectric probe, with each set of probes consisting of a transmitting lens and a receiving lens. The light emitted by the point light source inside the transmitting lens is shaped into a parallel light field through the transmitting lens, which is then directed toward the receiving lens. The parallel light is then focused by the receiving lens, and after passing through the aperture at the focal point, it forms an image on the receiving unit. When the object under test passes through the field of view, the area obscured by the object will produce a clearly defined shadow on the chip of the receiving unit. Through photoelectric conversion and digital processing, the diameter of the object under measurement can be calculated from the width of the shadow. Measurement parameters: Measurement range: 0.1–90 mm; Measurement accuracy: ±0.03 mm; Measurement frequency: 500 Hz; Repeatability: 0.01 mm; Display frequency: 3 times per second; Operation mode: Continuous; Operating voltage: ~220 V ±15%, 50 Hz; Ambient temperature: -20°C to 65°C; Ambient humidity: Less than 85% RH. Main functions: 1) Real-time measurement of wire diameter; 2) Adjustment of motor speed via both automatic and manual methods, with output voltage ranging from 0 V to 10 V; 3) Over-limit alarm function; 4) External display capability
