The temperature control valve of the screw air compressor is installed between the compressor head and the oil-gas separation tank, next to the oil filter. The temperature control valve has three oil pipes in total: one connects to the oil-gas separation tank, one connects to the oil filter, and one connects to the cooler. When lubricating oil enters, the valve core expands and contracts automatically depending on the oil temperature, allowing the lubricating oil to pass through the oil filter or to the cooler for cooling. What will be the consequences if a screw air compressor is not equipped with a temperature control valve and it is omitted? What are the hazards of a screw air compressor without a temperature control valve? The temperature control valve of the air compressor serves to maintain a constant temperature; without it, the air compressor may shut down due to excessive heat. A temperature control valve is a component that controls the flow direction of lubricating oil. If the action is not performed properly, it may cause the temperature of the unit to be too high or too low. Without a temperature control valve, the temperature of the lubricating oil in the air compressor rises as it operates; this hot oil then circulates back into the lubrication system for further use. The continuous rise in oil temperature accelerates the degradation of the oil, increases the load on the equipment, leads to severe frictional losses, shortens the equipment’s lifespan, forces the cooler to work harder, increases power consumption, raises operational costs, and results in energy waste. If a temperature control valve is not installed on a screw air compressor, it will cause many problems, severely affecting the compressor’s performance and operating conditions; the resulting costs will be much higher than those associated with installing a temperature control valve.
