As shown in the figure (question), the pressure reducing valve on the pneumatic shut-off valve has a small hole (is it possibly an exhaust hole?) ) It has suddenly started leaking air recently; it was working fine before. If a shut-off valve that uses the same air pressure source as this one is used, such a problem does not occur (6 kilograms). I was wondering if it’s because the air pressure is too high? Is there a problem with the pressure relief valve component again? I reduced the pressure to below 3 kilograms, and it hardly leaks anymore.
The set of components shown in the video is commonly referred to as a \"trinity\"; it consists of a pressure reducer, a filter, and an oil injector. The air leakage may be caused by a rupture in the internal air bladder, and it should be disassembled for inspection. This thing isn’t that difficult. Also, why isn’t the oil injector of your setup filling it with oil? The piston inside the cylinder needs to be lubricated. The exhaust valve at the lower part of the filter is severely corroded. Additionally, the pressure adjustment must match the pressure specified for the valve actuator, and the pressure cannot be reduced. Too low pressure can cause the valve to operate slowly or not at all. For reference.
It’s better to replace it; there’s hardly anything that needs fixing. It doesn’t seem to be an important control valve; otherwise, it is recommended not to use air supply hoses, but rather stainless steel or copper pipes.
In the project I was on before, this device was used to handle pressure reduction stations, responsible for regulating pressure, filtering out impurities from the instrument air. The black head at the top regulates the air supply pressure by compressing an internal diaphragm; based on what you’ve described, it seems that the diaphragm has leaked. This device is quite inexpensive, so the simplest solution is to replace the entire filter and pressure reduction unit with a new one. There’s no need to repair it.
Just replace it; if you can’t handle it, simply block that small hole. Used in the same way. This type of air leakage is usually caused by dirt inside, which prevents the diaphragm from sealing properly. Just take it apart and clean it up.
The structure of this three-stage pressure reducer consists of a knob used to adjust the gasket; the hole at the top is not an exhaust port. If there is air leakage, it indicates that the sealing gasket at the upper part of the pressure reducer has worn out – there is no leakage at low pressures but leakage at high pressures. If there are suitable spare parts available, they can be used for replacement; otherwise, one can make a makeshift gasket by themselves
That hole is used to balance air pressure; inside it there is a rubber diaphragm. When the air pressure increases, the diaphragm expands in order to release any excess air from the chamber. Under normal conditions, no air leaks. So, you’re abnormal now. It’s probably the diaphragm that’s leaking.
By unscrewing the housing at the bottom of the pressure relief valve, it can be seen that there is an inward-facing ridge with a pressure-bearing element at the upper and lower connections; over time, leakage can easily occur in that area
