Insulation panels are generally used in building floors; they are moisture- and water-resistant, and can reduce the thickness of the building’s exterior envelope, thereby increasing the usable interior space. It is one of the commonly used building materials today. Items that need to be tested for insulation panels: density, moisture absorption rate, thermal conductivity, compressive strength, thickness, and flame resistance. Geometric dimensions such as width and thickness can all be measured using online measuring instruments. Conducting measurements during production yields better product quality and a higher yield rate compared to offline testing. The combined use of photoelectric width meters and laser thickness gauges ensures accurate determination of the width and thickness of insulation panels, providing timely alerts when deviations from the specified standards occur. In addition to online testing, there are industrial computers and measurement and control software systems that analyze and store the test data, with various charts providing an intuitive display of data changes. The online width meter mainly displays: the standard width value, positive and negative tolerances, real-time width value, width deviation value, and the measurement curve. The laser thickness gauge mainly displays: the standard thickness value, positive and negative tolerances, real-time thickness value, thickness deviation value, and a measurement curve. Width and thickness gauges perform non-contact measurements, so their accuracy is not affected by wear, making them particularly suitable for measuring objects that are in motion on production lines. Testing standards for insulation boards: 4HG/T 4960-2016 – Rigid polyurethane foam combined polyether for insulation boards; 5JG/T 532-2018 – Surface-vitrified expanded perlite insulation boards for construction (draft version); 6JC/T 893-2001 – Glass fiber reinforced cement (GRC) interior insulation boards for exterior walls; 7JC/T 2200-2013 – Cement-based foam insulation boards; 8JC/T 2298-2014 – Expanded perlite insulation boards for construction; 9JC/T 2390-2017 – Special mortar for cement-based foam insulation boards; 10JC/T 2479-2018 – Cement-based composite material insulation boards; 11JG/T 159-2004 – Interior insulation boards for exterior walls; 12JG/T 314-2012 – Polyurethane rigid foam composite insulation boards; 13JG/T 360-2012 – Metal decorative insulation boards; 15JG/T 511-2017 – Foamed ceramic insulation boards for construction; 16JG/T 536-2017 – Thermosetting composite polystyrene foam insulation boards. There are specific regulations regarding the quality of insulation boards, and only those that meet the standards can be considered of reliable quality. As for the geometric dimensions of these boards, the main parameters to be checked are width and thickness, which can be measured online using width measuring instruments and laser thickness gauges.
