For three-wire and four-wire thermal resistors, it is in principle possible to connect them over an infinite length, as the resistance errors caused by the wires are overcome. But generally, a length of twenty to thirty meters is no problem; however, it’s better to use thicker and higher-quality wires for the resistive elements.

I bought a 200-550mm model; the nozzle is of the short type while the tank is of the long type. It doesn’t cost much. After measuring it, I asked someone online for a quote – the cost was low as well. The key is to measure accurately to avoid making the wrong purchase, as products that are made as one piece are difficult to return or exchange.

The longest armored thermal resistors we produce are those used in LNG storage tanks, with lengths of over 50 meters; Using a 3-wire system barely allows for maintaining Class A accuracy; I think this is the limit as well. High requirements are placed on the uniformity of the resistance value of the armored core wires ; If it’s 4 wires, it’s relatively easier. Furthermore, our longest armored thermocouples can reach over 1,000 meters and are used for measuring temperatures in oil field wells ; Thermocouples can be up to 300-500 meters per roll; we have a patent that allows for connecting armored thermocouples together. .
