When developing the transmitter circuit for a magnetic flip-level gauge, should a Hall element or a reed switch be used?

In those long rods used for magnetic flip switches, there is a resistance circuit, right? A Hall switch can be used, as well as a reed switch. Personally, I think reed switches tend to break easily; if one of them fails, the whole device becomes unusable. Hall switches are better in this regard, but they aren’t as commonly used, so I’m not sure which one to choose
Study magnetostriction. Domestic manufacturers will just produce reed switches.
