What does an instrument air tank mean in the Acceptance Criteria for the Full-Process Automation Control Transformation of Key Chemical Enterprises in Jiangsu Province (Trial)? Does it refer to each valve of FL being equipped with a small instrument air tank, or to the entire installation having one large instrument air storage tank? Our plant currently has an instrument air storage tank with a capacity of 200 m3 and a pressure of 0.7 Mpa. Does this meet the requirements?
The function of this air tank is to provide holding support for the pneumatic valve in case of a failure in the supply from the main air pipeline. Based on the air consumption of the on-site pneumatic valves, calculate the approximate usage amount to determine the capacity of the air storage tank.
In public systems, large containers are installed at each unit; each unit has a large tank, and these two large tanks fall under the category of process equipment. By the instrument air tank you mentioned, I mean one such tank is installed at each critical location, equipped with a shut-off valve, to maintain pressure for 48 hours in the event of an air supply failure.
By raising the pressure inside the tank to 7 kilograms, it can be used as an instrument air tank.
In general process design, a compressor is installed on the main pipe supplying instrument air to pressurize the backup tank, for use in case of a failure in the supply. At this time, the pressure in the backup tank is relatively high. In short, it’s for backup. As for using a large, separate valve, it is sometimes also used to increase the intake speed and speed up the operation.
What the diagram is showing seems to be the small air tank that comes with a single valve. Designed for use with a single valve.
Agreed; this is used extensively in the new hydrogen production and sulfur recovery projects that our company has launched
A compressed air tank should be installed for the FL pneumatic valves, to be used solely by those specific valves.
I’ve seen before actuators that come with a small air storage tank; would one like that work?
The valve comes with a small gas tank, used for FL valves
