Everyone, may I ask whether a dedicated hydrogen pressure gauge or a diaphragm pressure gauge should be used for hydrogen pipeline pressure measurement?
Choose a hydrogen pressure gauge. Hydrogen pressure gauges are oil-free, while diaphragm pressure gauges contain oil.
I just checked here; the PSA design in this case involves ordinary stainless steel pressure gauges. For methanol-to-hydrogen production, another design firm specified safety pressure gauges with requirements regarding glass and relief mechanisms, while there are no special requirements regarding oil resistance. The pressure gauges used on site are also ordinary diaphragm pressure gauges.
This must be a mistake. Oil-free oxygen pressure gauge.
Hydrogen causes fats to harden, so hydrogenation machinery must take this into account. The production process of hydrogen pressure gauges requires oil-free conditions, but practical use is not that strict about this.
Of course it needs to be dedicated; ordinary ones will break after being used for a long time, but temporary ones are definitely fine
