The purpose of adding weighing and level measurement to the high-level tank

Dear netizens: I’ve noticed that in many PID systems, the high-level tank is equipped not only with a weighing module but also with an inverted-type level gauge. The weighing module is interlocked with the shut-off valves for material inflow and outflow, while the level gauge is used merely for remote display of the liquid level. What is the reason for such a setup?
It only indicates that the material in this tank requires high precision in terms of measurement (the weight added) when it is put into use.
