Wherein: R, B, S are the components of precious metals, with a fine wire diameter ; N, K, E, J, T are common metals with thick wire diameters. Common thermocouples can be divided into two main categories: standard thermocouples and non-standard thermocouples. A so-called standard thermocouple refers to a thermocouple for which standards specify the relationship between its thermoelectric potential and temperature, as well as the allowable errors, along with a unified standard scale; it also comes with accompanying display instruments available for use. Unstandardized thermocouples are inferior to standardized thermocouples in terms of range of use and quantity, and generally do not have a standard calibration table; they are mainly used for measurements in certain special applications.
