There are usually two limit switches on the cylinder. We purchased a large louver valve (manual), but it’s important to know whether it is open or closed in order to avoid problems). The manufacturer said that for Delta, only one such switch is needed to indicate whether the device is open or closed; I don’t understand this, so I’m asking everyone for their opinion
Delexi’s limit switches can be designed to have a dual function, allowing one switch to detect two different position states. Typically, this is achieved by using a special mechanical structure or electronic circuit within the limit switch, which can distinguish between the open and closed states and send corresponding signals. Therefore, if Delexi’s limit switch is designed to be able to distinguish and output the “open” or “closed” state, then indeed only one such switch needs to be installed on the cylinder or the blind valve you mentioned in order to detect the two positions. If you still have doubts about how this switch works or how this function is implemented, you can consult Delta’s technical support or refer to the relevant product manual. .
One can’t serve two purposes. Under normal circumstances, there are only on and off positions (such as ON/OFF, 0/1). If only one position switch is used (assuming it provides feedback for the on position), then it can be assumed that the state is either on or off (either 0 or 1). The problem with this is: what if the valve gets stuck in between, not in the on position nor the off position?
What you said is exactly what I’m worried about as well. It’s of the type that clicks shut, and although it has an open and closed position, I think it only shows the closed state; it’s impossible to tell whether it’s slightly open, halfway open, or fully open
There is a limit switch at the front and a travel switch at the back; there is still a slight difference between them.
It is best to use 2 proximity switches on the cylinder, one for each to provide open and closed feedback.
The issue is that this is a manual valve equipped with a switch, and the diameter of the valve opening is one meter by one meter
