Dear teachers: Is the power cable for the solenoid valve of the pneumatic on/off valve (DO output, 24V, connected to the relay) and the 24V power cables for other four-wire instruments (such as four-wire fork-type level switches) connected to a DCS cabinet for power supply? For these two wires running from the on-site junction box to the DCS cabinet, can a multi-core cable be used?
It depends on your actual setup. The solenoid valve doesn’t necessarily need to be 24V; and even if it is 24V, it’s not certain that the solenoid valve will require its own power distribution cabinet. What do you mean by using a multi-core cable? Is it shared with other power distributions? Under normal circumstances, the power distribution for different devices should not be done through a single cable.
On-site, it is a 24V solenoid valve, used for the wiring of the pneumatic on/off valve DO output. Theoretically, the cable for powering the solenoid valves should not be shared with other power supply cables, but on-site inspection 2 revealed that the cable powering the solenoid valves and the other 24V power supply cables share the same multi-core cable.
It’s possible using a multi-core split-screen cable. The standards specify that different voltage levels should not use the same multi-core cable. Additionally, to ensure the integrity of the project, analog and digital signals are connected to separate junction boxes; in some cases, they are separated based on function as well.
