Of these three types of antennas, the cone antenna is the most widely used. In the actual selection process, regarding the size of the antenna, it is generally recommended to choose an antenna with a larger diameter whenever possible, provided that conditions permit, in order to ensure good measurement performance.

Special installation requirements and issues for parabolic antennas: Due to the operational principles of parabolic antennas, their installation on floating roof tanks is rather complex, and there are numerous challenges associated with their subsequent use and maintenance, as detailed below:
Considering the actual performance in use, the convenience of subsequent maintenance, and the difficulty of adjusting for measurement errors, for floating roof tanks, especially those with large capacities, it is recommended to prefer radar level gauges using guided wave tube array antennas. Its high precision enables accurate monitoring of tank liquid levels. Although there are additional installation requirements and a risk of medium condensation, these issues can be effectively avoided through proper installation planning and regular maintenance, resulting in a higher overall cost-performance ratio.
