Pneumatic cut-off valve, with a cylinder on top. The engineers from the design team said that when designing pipelines, such cut-off valves should generally be installed on horizontal pipes, as they are not suitable for vertical pipes due to uneven stress distribution on the cylinder. I searched online to see if there are pneumatic cut-off valves designed for vertical installation; some websites said such valves exist, with cylinders that are specially designed for vertical use, but these were not mentioned by professional instrument manufacturers ； There are no product images or catalogs either. I’m not sure if there are actually pneumatic cut-off valves designed for vertical installation?
There’s no need to worry too much about this. I’ve seen butterfly valves, ball valves, and gate valves installed in a vertical position. Indeed, the cylinder used in such devices shouldn’t be too heavy; in most cases, a support is used to hold up the cylinder, or straps can be used to suspend it – there’s no problem with that
The cylinder isn’t large, so the impact is minimal. Larger cylinders can have an impact; supports can be added ； It’s especially large; it should be installed in a horizontal pipe.
The cylinders are all made of aluminum alloy, so they are not heavy; unless it’s a large-diameter cylinder, additional support is required
