This year is the final year for the Action Plan for Air Pollution Control. In line with the goals related to replacing coal, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is expected to achieve a negative growth in total coal consumption this year. In terms of specific targets, Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province are expected to see a reduction in coal consumption this year compared to 2012 – by 13 million tons in Beijing, 10 million tons in Tianjin, and 40 million tons in Hebei Province. In total, this amounts to 63 million tons, according to the China Phosphorus Coal Industry Network.
With production capacity restricted in this way, it is not only difficult to purchase coke, but its price also has significant room for increase
