First of all, I’m a newcomer in the coking industry, and I’ve come here to seek advice from all of you who are more experienced. Please give me some good suggestions on how to reduce costs associated with coal blending! I. In terms of the establishment of relevant departments for cooperation: it is necessary to set up a supply and marketing department, a trial production department, a laboratory technology department, and a R&D technology design department. Moreover, these departments need to possess strong technical capabilities as well as excellent coordination skills; teamwork is crucial. If even one department fails to cooperate properly, the research and development efforts will fail. II. Each department or team must be equipped with the most advanced instruments and personnel with specialized skills; they must be willing to endure hardships, not fear fatigue or dirt, and possess endurance. III. The R&D department should establish a scientific, automated high-tech database for coal blending to provide a foundation for such research and development. IV. The Supply Department should seek out various types of coal that are available in the vicinity and have favorable cost-performance ratios, such as bituminous coal, tar coke coal, long-flame coal, and low-quality coals like lean coal. These should be used in combination with high-quality coking coal and rich coal. While ensuring that the coal meets the requirements for use in blast furnaces, efforts should be made to use as little high-quality coal as possible and as much low-quality coal as possible. After the R&D Department designs the optimal solution, the Experimental Production Department must conduct repeated tests. The Technical Analysis Department must accurately analyze each material and every testing parameter, providing the best possible data for the experiments. Once the R&D Department obtains this data, it should promptly develop a new set of improved test plans and continue with the experiments. The Sales Department is responsible for introducing the final products to the market; any customer feedback regarding quality should be conveyed promptly to the R&D Department, so that it can use this information to make further improvements. V. All teams and departments must unconditionally comply with the decisions of the R&D department; any doubts should be addressed promptly, and those decisions must be followed without exception. VI. Teams do not need to have a large number of members, but rather skilled ones. Each team should have an economic incentive system in place on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to motivate everyone to perform their tasks well on their own.
