Dear colleagues, the liquid level in the quench chamber of the fluidized bed powder coal gasifier changes significantly depending on the type of coal used. May I ask the experts what causes this phenomenon, and is there any theoretical explanation for it?
I think there are only a few possible reasons for the fluctuations in water level caused by changes in coal type. 1. Fluctuations in the steam volume after heat exchange in the quench chamber are caused by changes in furnace temperature ; 2. Changes in the composition of syngas and water; for example, the water-gas reaction consumes a large amount of water ; 3. The amount of ash generated changes significantly ; 4. Significant changes in gas volume ; 5. The quench water pump is fluctuating. However, the level of the quench water must be controlled very strictly. The possibility of significant fluctuations in this level due to changes in coal type is minimal, as such changes are not substantial; there is always a transition period. Due to my limited understanding of gas flow bed gasifiers with quench chambers, I hope for your guidance if there are any inaccuracies.
