I’m a beginner. I would like to ask everyone: what determines the number of steel rods that are added to the coal grinder each time? I think the proportion of steel rods can be determined based on the distribution of particle sizes, but what determines the total amount? And how many Kg of steel rods are lost per ton of coal.
The amount of rods to add is determined based on 1. the particle size distribution of the coal slurry, and 2. the condition of the steel rods at the time they are inserted, as well as their degree of wear What is the ratio for steel bars? The distance of the steel rod from the discharge outlet determines what size of rod to use and how much to add; the weight of the steel rods added can be roughly estimated by dividing the processing capacity of the grinder over that period by said weight
The total amount of steel rods is related to several factors: 1. Fill rate: about 35% of the mill’s volume (10-15 cm below the bottom edge of the feed opening); 2. Processing capacity: Too much material and too few rods makes grinding difficult; too little material and too many rods increases the risk of the rods breaking. The specific ratio needs to be determined through experience based on actual operation conditions ; Wear is most closely related to the hardness of the steel rod as well as the amount of material processed. When the hardness of the steel rod is between HRC 45 and 55, wear is at its lowest level. However, our factory has not received any feedback from customers regarding the exact values; customers rarely keep records in this regard. What matters most to them is preventing the rods from breaking – as long as the rods do not break, they consider them to be good quality.
