Recently, our company’s 6.5 MPa GE coal-water slurry gasifier has experienced multiple times of interlocked shutdowns due to a high oxygen-to-coal ratio. Please help analyze the reasons.
1. Slurry pump failure, resulting in a decrease in slurry flow rate； 2. The coal slurry concentration decreases, resulting in excess oxygen in the gasifier ； 3. False indication of slurry flow meter ； 4. The presence of many large particles in the coal slurry at the outlet of the coal grinder causes jamming of the diaphragm in the coal slurry pump, resulting in a sudden decrease in flow rate.
Look for the cause in the coal slurry first. To check the operation of the slurry pump, one can look at its current.
