How long has it been running, and how much is left blocked at the outlet? Also, have you modified the internal components of your furnace?
First of all, thank you to this colleague. We haven’t made any modifications internally; the unit has been in operation for less than 60 days. During recent operations, the syngas outlet starts to get clogged after a short period of time. The pressure difference calculated between the pressure point in the quench chamber and that at the syngas outlet is increasing gradually. Every time the unit is started up, ash builds up at the syngas outlet; in the worst cases, there is only a hole about the size of an arm there
Issues such as fluctuating liquid levels and blockages caused by ash in the process gas require equipment modifications. 1. If the internal components have not been modified, then an analysis from an operational perspective should be carried out first; if there is ash present, it comes from the gasification furnace. So, has there been a significant change in the ash content of the raw coal? How much quenching water is used? What is the liquid level control status of the gasifier? 2.
