Notice from the China Coal Chemical Industry Association regarding the convening of the “14th Five-Year Plan Forum on the Development of Coal-to-Methanol and Methanol Fuel Industries” To all relevant parties: Methanol fuel is an emerging clean alternative energy source that is being increasingly utilized in industries such as automobiles, ships, boilers, the food service sector, smelting, ceramics, glass manufacturing, and baking. It serves as an important means to replace bulk coal, heavy oil, and diesel, as well as to provide a clean alternative fuel. To further advance the clean and efficient utilization of coal and promote the use of methanol fuel in pressure combustion and thermal combustion applications, the China Coal Processing and Utilization Association and China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. will jointly hold a forum on the development of the coal-to-methanol and methanol fuel industries during the 14th Five-Year Plan period on November 27–28, 2019, in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. The relevant details are notified as follows: 1. Organizational structure of the forum: Organizer: China Coal Processing and Utilization Association, China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. Supporting organizations: Key Laboratory of Automotive Safety and Energy Efficiency at Tsinghua University. Host: Coal Conversion Branch of China Coal Processing and Utilization Association, Beijing Fandi Energy Consulting Center. Co-organizers: Jingzhou Investment Promotion Center in Hubei Province. Date and location of the forum: Date: November 27–28, 2019; registration on the 26th. Main contents of the forum: (I) Analysis of China’s energy policy and the development prospects of methanol fuel ； (II) Analysis and forecast of China’s methanol market ； (III) Large-scale, efficient, and environmentally friendly coal gasification technologies suitable for coal-to-methanol production ； (IV) Research, development, and application of technologies for the production, transportation, and distribution of methanol fuel ； (V) Investment and cost analysis of coal-based methanol ； (VI) Interpretation of the development status of the alcohol-ether fuel standardization system ； (VII) Exchange of research and practical experience in the promotion and application of methanol fuel ； (8) Development and application of methanol internal combustion engines for vehicles, as well as latest technological advancements ； (IX) Development and application of civilian methanol fuel stoves and latest technological advancements ； (X) Development and application of methanol fuel boilers and latest technological advancements ； (11) Progress in the development of power systems for methanol-fueled ships ； ( XII) Development and application of methanol reformation hydrogen fuel cells ； (13) Discussion on the development approach and strategic priorities for the in-depth processing of coal during the 14th Five-Year Plan period; III. Participants: (1) Leaders from relevant regulatory agencies and industry associations, as well as invited experts ； (II) Heads of the industrial, energy, and environmental protection authorities in various provinces (cities, districts) ； (III) Heads of various coal, coal chemical, petrochemical enterprises, as well as enterprises producing internal combustion engines, automobiles, and furnaces, along with research institutions and engineering companies. IV. Other matters: (I) Registration method: To facilitate the organized planning of conference arrangements and services, participants are requested to submit the confirmation form via fax, email, or WeChat to the Coal Chemicals Division of the China Coal Processing and Utilization Association by November 21, 2019. (II) Participation fees: Accommodation and meals for this conference will be arranged, while accommodation costs shall be borne by the participants themselves. 1. A conference fee is charged for this meeting, with the rate being 1,800 yuan per person for member organizations and 2,800 yuan per person for non-member organizations. 2. Organizations that have not yet paid their membership fees for 2019 are requested to make the payment by bank transfer as soon as possible, or to pay them at the registration desk during the conference. 3. The conference logistics for this event are entrusted to Beijing Fandi Energy Consulting Center for handling. 4.
