The hydrogen and ammonia project for nylon production at Henan Shenma uses multi-nozzle water-coal slurry gasification. On October 24, 2020, a meeting to advance this hydrogen and ammonia project as part of the nylon manufacturing facility was held at Saiding Engineering Company. More than 30 people from Henan Shenma Hydrogen Chemical Co., Ltd., Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd., and the patent holders of various process packages attended the meeting. The Shenma Nylon Chemical Industry supporting hydrogen and ammonia project will construct facilities for producing 400,000 tons per year of liquid ammonia and 50,000 m3/h of hydrogen, with sulfuric acid generated as a by-product. Project construction can provide raw materials for the production of companies in the nylon chemicals and nylon technology sectors, enabling self-sufficiency in raw materials. The process flow adopted in this project is to use 6.5 MPa multi-nozzle water-coal slurry gasification to produce raw gas, which is then purified into clean gas after undergoing shift reaction, heat recovery, desulfurization, and decarbonization. Part of the purified gas is compressed into syngas after being refined with liquid nitrogen, and then sent to the ammonia synthesis unit to produce liquid ammonia as the product. Another portion of the purified gas passes through a PSA hydrogen extraction unit to produce pure hydrogen product. The acidic gas generated by the purification unit is sent to the sulfur recovery unit to produce concentrated sulfuric acid.
