What are the decarbonization processes? Everyone is welcome to discuss!
A new decarbonization method was encountered in Henan: combined-alkali decarbonization. The syngas enters carbonation towers filled with ammonia water and salt water, where carbon dioxide is absorbed, resulting in the formation of sodium bicarbonate and ammonium chloride.
Common ones include: hypothyroidism, NHD, MDEA, PSA, etc
Currently, in the coal chemical industry, MDEA is used in small and medium-sized enterprises for desulfurization; NHD is employed by medium-sized enterprises, while low-temperature methanol washing is used by large enterprises. The integrated technology of low-temperature methanol washing for both desulfurization and decarbonization is the most mature, advanced, and reliable, but it requires significant investment and is therefore typically applied in large-scale coal chemical plants. 2. NHD is a physical absorption-based desulfurization and decarbonization process suitable for China’s national conditions. Although its technical performance is not as good as that of low-temperature methanol washing, it requires less investment, and its overall energy consumption is lower than that of the traditional thermal potassium-alkali method for decarbonization. It is the preferred choice for small and medium-sized enterprises to carry out technological upgrades, and it can also be considered for new medium-scale coal chemical plants. If it is to be used for methanol, low-temperature methanol washing is recommended, as this yields a high level of gas purification.
Many large-scale ammonia synthesis plants still use MDEA in their decarbonization processes; it offers good absorption efficiency and low corrosivity, although the initial investment cost is relatively high.
