On the low-temperature methanol washing units, there are siphon tanks mounted on top of the pumps; these tanks contain systems for methanol circulation and water circulation. Want to know the function of a siphon tank? And I heard from the experienced workers that methanol in the siphon tank can be used to clean the mechanical seal; if the mechanical seal is cleaned, does the waste methanol resulting from that cleaning process still circulate within the siphon tank? Will it have no impact?
The flushing scheme for your pump is generally 11+52+62; the 52 refers to the two pipelines connected to the siphon tank (liquid storage tank). There is a pumping ring inside the mechanical seal, and the methanol in the secondary sealing chamber circulates due to thermal siphoning and pumping effects. This liquid is used solely for lubricating and cooling the seal. It will not affect usage

Based on practical experience, it’s generally the case that the flushing plan is determined by the effectiveness of its use. No matter how good a flushing plan may be, if it isn’t suitable for my specific working conditions, then it’s not an appropriate choice
