How is the methanol discharged from the low-temperature methanol washing unit during routine maintenance or heat exchanger repairs handled? Is it to be sent to the methanol distillation unit or somewhere else? What should companies that produce synthetic ammonia do?
Our factory is used to feed bacteria with sewage
We are routed to the underground tank and then sent to the waste methanol storage tank. It will be added back when methanol is replenished.
Isn’t what’s added always pure methanol? Won’t it be a problem to put the old one back?
I’m not sure what process you use; with Linde’s process, methanol can be added to either the lean liquid tank or the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower. Adding this methanol to the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower poses no problem. If it’s Ruzzi’s process, then there’s no problem at all, because Ruzzi adds methanol to the thermal regeneration tower.
