Short answer true/false question: Brief description of the structure of a gasification furnace for coal gasification: The gasification furnace is the core equipment of a gasification system. Oxygen reacts with water-coal slurry, or with pulverized coal and water vapor, in the combustion chamber through process burners, resulting in combustion and oxidation reactions that generate a large amount of heat. Gas composed mainly of CO and H2 is produced; after being cooled by water and having its dust removed preliminarily, this gas leaves the cooling chamber of the gasification furnace along with the steam generated during gasification. The combustion chamber of the gasifier is a steel container lined with refractory material; a process burner is attached to its top, while its lower conical end leads to the quenching chamber. The refractory bricks inside the furnace are divided into three separate sections – the vault, the cylinder, and the cone – allowing for partial replacement. There is a temperature measurement system on the furnace wall surface, and high-temperature thermocouples are installed in the furnace chamber to monitor and guide the operation of the gasification furnace. The lower part of the combustion chamber is a quenching chamber, which is connected to a lockhopper below. It is mainly composed of a quenching ring, a downcomer, an upcomer, and separation baffles. The quenching ring is connected to the support plate via flanges, while the quenching ring tube is welded to the downcomer. The quenching water enters the annular flow channels of the quenching ring through four paths, then passes through openings in the side walls of these channels to reach the inner side of the quenching ring. It flows downward evenly along the gap between the ring and the downcomer, forming a water film on the wall of the downcomer. The process burner installed at the top of the gasifier features a three-channel external mixing design, with oxygen flowing through the central tube and the outer annular gap. A cooling coil is located at the head of the burner, and a water jacket is present at its front end to prevent the burner from being damaged by high temperatures.
