After nearly three years of intensive construction, the commissioning of the large-scale equipment and core systems at the Yan’an Coal, Oil, and Gas Resource Comprehensive Utilization Project, a key project of the Yan’an Petroleum Group, is progressing in an orderly manner, as efforts are made to achieve full-scale testing by June 30th. Since April, with the successful first single-test run of the turbine for the MTO propylene refrigeration compressor ； Subsequently, the propylene compressor at the gasification and purification center, the ethylene refrigeration compressor of the ACO unit, and the turbines of the propylene refrigeration compressor units were also successfully tested individually one after another ； The reaction gas compression unit at the MTO center completed the unit integrated test on the basis of the successful individual turbine test. Entering May, unit commissioning was carried out on a full scale, with the individual tests of Turbines 1 and 2 in the thermal power plant being successfully completed one after another ； The first trial run of the extruders in the polypropylene and polyethylene plants was successful ； The 110kV main substation, along with the 11 35kV substations downstream and the 25 35kV feeders, are all powered. All devices in the project are equipped with dual power supply, which provides a reliable power supply for the project’s commissioning. On May 25, the successful joint commissioning of the process gas compression units at the ACO plant marked the completion of individual tests on all the key large-scale turbine-based compression units in the project’s various production areas, with the exception of those used in the natural gas conversion and synthesis unit as well as the coal-based gas compression unit. As the June 30 trial operation approaches, Yan’an Energy Chemical Company has begun carrying out pre-acceptance checks and defect rectification efforts. Special attention is being paid to lightning protection and grounding systems, fire-fighting facilities, as well as the registration and inspection of pressure vessels and pipelines, all in order to ensure the successful achievement of the goals set for June 30. Yan’an Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. of Yanchang Petroleum, established in September 2009, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd. It is primarily responsible for the construction of projects aimed at the comprehensive utilization of coal, oil, and gas resources in Yan’an, as well as their operation and management once such projects are completed. The Yan’an coal, oil, and gas resources comprehensive utilization project is the largest energy and chemical project invested in by Yanchang Petroleum Group in Yan’an. With a total investment of around 24 billion yuan, the project consists of 10 production units along with the corresponding utility systems and auxiliary facilities. The project is located in the Luo River valley in the southern part of Fuxian County, Shaanxi Province. It uses associated gas from Yanchang Petroleum’s oil fields, light oil from refineries, and coal as raw materials to build 10 production units for various products, including 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of products derived from methanol through further processing, 400,000 tons per year of light oil processed into useful products, 450,000 tons per year of polyethylene, 250,000 tons per year of polypropylene, 200,000 tons per year of butanol, 80,000 tons per year of dipropyl heptanol, and 50,000 tons per year of EPDM rubber. Additionally, supporting facilities and external engineering projects will be constructed as well. The project is scheduled to achieve full operational capacity and start producing qualified products by June 30, 2018.
