Construction of the air separation unit for Shenhua’s 100-billion-yuan coal chemical project (Phase 1) begins / Source: Date: 2018-07-20 Clicks: 27 Recently, the construction ceremony for the air separation unit as part of Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project (Phase 1), which is under the general contract of Hualu Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., was held. Qi Yin, deputy general manager of Hualu Technology, Ge Qinghu, project manager, and Jiang Rong, deputy director of the construction management department, along with their team, arrived at the project site to attend the commencement ceremony for the civil engineering work. The project team in charge of air separation operations for the owner, the supervisors from Anhui Institute, as well as the on-site management staff and construction workers from Shaanxi Ruilong, the contractor responsible for the civil engineering work in Section 3, all attended the commencement ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Director Jiang Rong from the Construction Management Department of Hualu Technology. At the ceremony, project manager Ge Qinghu first introduced the overall operation of the project and its current progress, stating that careful planning and organization would be carried out, along with the effective allocation of resources, to ensure that the project advances in an orderly manner as planned. Subsequently, President Mu of Shaanxi Ruilong made a statement pledging to \"obey instructions and ensure the safety, quality, and progress of the project\". Director Qiao from Anhui Institute’s supervision team, along with Manager Jiao from the owner’s air separation project team, spoke one after another, putting forward various management requirements for the project. On April 17, 2018, the signing ceremony for the EPC contract regarding the design, procurement, and construction of the air separation unit as part of the Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project (Phase 1) was held at Hualu Technology ; On April 29, the groundbreaking ceremony for the pile foundation works of the air separation unit at the Shenhua Yulin SYCTC-1 project was held at the site of the air separation unit of Shenhua Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. ▲On November 9, 2017, Hangyang Group signed contracts for the design, supply, and services related to three air separation units with a capacity of 100,000 Nm3/h for the Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project (Phase I) with Shenhua Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. and Shenhua Materials Group at its manufacturing facility in Lin’an. This is another collaboration between Hangyang Group and Shenhua, following the provision of six air separation units of that capacity for Shenhua Ningxia’s 4 million tons per year coal indirect liquefaction project in 2013. To date, Hangyang has supplied 16 large-scale air separation units to Shenhua Group, with a total oxygen production capacity of 1.26 million m3/h. The Shenhua Yulin Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project (abbreviated as CTC Project) was officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission; it is one of the largest coal chemical projects invested in in China to date. The first-phase project, with a total investment of 13.6 billion yuan, serves as the initial phase of this initiative. It involves the production of 1.8 million tons per year of methanol along with 400,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol. The project includes various process units such as air separation, gasification, shift reaction, acid gas removal, methanol synthesis, sulfur recovery, and ethylene glycol production, as well as the associated utility systems and auxiliary facilities. Operation of these units is scheduled to begin in 2020.
