Methanol price trends across China on June 4 Author/Source: Date: 2019-06-04 Clicks: 3 The methanol market in the Northeast region is declining; the prevailing selling prices for methanol produced from coal and coke oven gas in Qitaihe, Heilongjiang, are around 2050–2100 yuan per ton, with sales mainly directed at local markets and Jilin； The quotes from major traders for goods shipped from Liaoning are around 2,200 yuan per ton. The methanol market in Henan region is declining, with some companies negotiating prices around 2100–2150 yuan per ton. It is also reported that traders in Luoyang are quoting prices around 2,070–2,090 yuan per ton. In the Anhui region, the methanol market is characterized by a wait-and-see attitude; manufacturers rarely submit quotes. Market conditions in neighboring areas are weak, and some companies are selling their product at around 2250 yuan per ton on an acceptance basis. The methanol market in the Hubei and Hunan regions is on a downward trend; in Hubei, the prevailing negotiation price is 2,300–2,400 yuan per ton, which represents the ex-factory prices of major manufacturers at the lower end, while Wuhan-based traders offer prices for the higher-end products ； In the Hunan region, some negotiation prices range around 2,480–2,530 yuan per ton, with most of these quotes coming from traders in Changsha. The methanol market in the southwest region is weakening; currently, some companies in Sichuan and Chongqing are selling their product at around 2180–2280 yuan per ton ； Affected by the surrounding market conditions, some traders in Sichuan and Chongqing are negotiating prices around 2320-2340 yuan per ton. The spot market for methanol in Fujian remains weak; quotes in Quangang and Xiamen are around 2,380 yuan per ton. Trading activity is low, and sales are modest.
