What is a molecular sieve: A molecular sieve is a synthetically produced crystalline silicoaluminate; natural ones also exist, commonly known as zeolites. There are a wide variety of types, with the most commonly used being Type A, Type X, and Type Y. Each type differs in terms of pore size and properties depending on the cation used, and there are also various models such as 3A, 4A, 5A, 10X, 13X, etc. The shape is strip-like or spherical, with a diameter of Ф2–6 mm. The main properties of molecular sieves are: (1) extremely strong adsorption capacity and good selective adsorption performance. (2) It has an extremely high degree of dryness, and possesses excellent drying capabilities in the presence of high temperatures and fast air currents. The lower the water vapor content and the lower the relative temperature, the more pronounced the adsorption capacity. However, at higher relative humidity, its adsorption capacity is lower than that of silica gel. (3) It has good stability, maintaining its adsorption capacity at temperatures below 200°C, and also has a relatively long service life.
