Why does the methanol product turn blue when made water-soluble?
It’s likely that the purity of methanol is low, with an excessive amount of acidic substances present
Which parameter are you measuring again? Is it acidity or alkalinity? A blue color indicates that your methanol is alkaline; its alkalinity can be measured to determine whether it meets the national standard GB338
The methanol in our low-temperature methanol wash cycle also turned light blue for some time; this was probably due to the influence of hydrocarbons.
