On the morning of October 30, the commissioning ceremony was held for Changsheng Company’s project with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of coke and 250,000 tons of methanol. It is understood that Changsheng Company’s project to produce 2.5 million tons of methanol as a by-product of its 1.8 million tons per year coking operation is a key project within the Green Coking Industry Cluster in Shanxi Province, as outlined in the \"Development Plan for the Urban Agglomeration in Central Shanxi Basin (2019–2030)\"). It ranks among the top ten projects in Jieyou City and is also considered a key project in Jinzhong City. This project represents an important way for Jieyou City to respond to the trends of capacity consolidation and the shift toward larger-scale operations, to keep up with the development direction of the industry, to implement the strategies related to the energy revolution, and to achieve high-quality economic development. The total investment in the project is 6.16 billion yuan. It primarily involves the construction of two rammed coke ovens with a height of 6.78 meters and an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons each, as well as a methanol production facility with an annual capacity of 250,000 tons. Methanol is synthesized using coke oven gas, and hydrogen is extracted from the methane off-gases through PSA pressure swing adsorption; this hydrogen can be used as a clean fuel for clean hydrogen-powered vehicles ； The accompanying pollution control facilities utilize advanced industry technologies, and the waste gases, wastewater, solid waste, and noise generated are all designed and constructed in accordance with ultra-low emission standards. Once the project is operational, it will generate annual sales revenue of 6.3 billion yuan, annual tax payments of 600 million yuan, and provide employment for over 900 people.
