According to data from the Tianyancha app, Sinopec (600028) has obtained a new invention patent, titled “Method for preparing a catalyst for methanol synthesis”. The patent application number is CN202210386718.3, and it was granted on August 8, 2025. Patent Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for preparing a catalyst for methanol synthesis, which includes: (1) carrying out a gelation reaction in co-current flow between a solution containing Zn, Cu, and additives and a sodium aluminate solution to obtain a slurry ； (2) The slurry obtained in step (1) is subjected to n successive stages of pH reduction aging; in each stage, 1/n of the Al-containing solution is added at the end of the first pH aging stage. After the aging process, the resulting material is separated into solid and liquid phases, and the solid phase is dried and compressed into tablets to yield the final product ； (3) The shaped product is immersed in an organic acid solution of carboxylic acid polymers and/or organic phosphonic acid compounds, followed by desalination, washing, drying, and calcination to obtain a synthetic methanol catalyst. The catalyst prepared by the method of the present invention has a large pore volume and pore size, with the pore distribution mainly concentrated in macropores. The active metal copper and the additive zinc are well dispersed, exhibiting a good synergistic effect, which enhances the activity, selectivity, and thermal stability of the methanol synthesis catalyst as well as its service life.
