Recently, the project for the production of various fully biodegradable plastics and specialty nylon materials, funded by Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group, started construction in the Fuyang Coal-based New Materials Industrial Park. Construct facilities for the annual production of 600,000 tons of bottle-grade polyester (PET), 400,000 tons of nylon 66, 200,000 tons of nylon 6, 200,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) produced via the maleic anhydride method, and 200,000 tons of polyglycolic acid (PGA), along with supporting infrastructure. Among them, the nylon 66 products fill the gap in similar chemical products in Anhui Province. Once the project is put into operation, it is expected to generate annual revenue of 12 billion yuan and tax revenues of 500 million yuan, while providing employment for 3,000 people. It is reported that Haoyuan Chemical plans to invest 28.7 billion yuan in the Yingdong Chemical Park, with 20 projects planned to be carried out in four phases. The southern area includes a total of 8 sub-projects in phases one and two, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan; all of these projects have been completed and put into operation. Phase 3 consists of 7 sub-projects in total. These include a project for the annual production of 300,000 tons of fully biodegradable plastic (PBAT), a project for the annual production of 200,000 tons of polystyrene, a project for the annual production of 300,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide, a project for the combined production of 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 400,000 tons of urea along with 200,000 tons of lactam, a project for the annual production of 20,000 tons of morpholine, 6,000 tons of N-methyloxymorpholine, and 30,000 tons of isopropylamine, as well as related utility projects. The total investment in these projects is approximately 7.5 billion yuan, with completion and operation planned by the end of 2023 ； A total of 5 projects are planned across the four phases. They are respectively a project with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of bottle-grade polyester (PET), a project with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of nylon 66 chips, a project with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of nylon 6 chips, a project with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) produced via the maleic anhydride method, and a project with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of polyglycolic acid (PGA). The total investment in these projects is approximately 11.2 billion yuan. On March 1, 2022, Fuyang City in Anhui Province released the list of projects proposed for approval under the 2021 Fuyang City Science and Technology Major Projects initiative of the \"call-for-proposals\" type. Among them, the project titled \"Synthesis of Coal-Based Biodegradable New Material Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) and Its Copolymer Modification\", proposed by Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd., was undertaken by the Hefei Institute of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In addition to PGA, Anhui Haoyuan has also launched a 300,000-ton PBAT project in the field of biodegradable materials. The first batch of 60,000 tons of PBAT from one of these facilities was put into operation by the end of 2022. Phase 2 will construct a PBAT production facility with an annual output of 200,000 tons, along with supporting facilities.
