There are various types of motor protection circuits. The simplest is thermal relay protection, followed by the use of a comprehensive protector, and then the heating element built into the motor at the time of manufacture. Actually, none of these matter, because every form of protection has its shortcomings. For example, thermal relays and thermocouples cannot protect against phase loss and short-term overloads. Comprehensive protectors face a trade-off between overcurrent magnitude and time. The most important thing is to strengthen the management of employees, carry out daily inspections, and monitor the motor current – that’s what really matters; otherwise it’s all just for show. This is because it is common to encounter situations where the motor burns out while the protection device fails to function. Since the more protection devices there are, the higher the failure rate, these devices might be deliberately removed in order to avoid failures. It’s better to focus more on employee compensation management!
