What is an energy-saving motor? Which document or standard defines an energy-saving motor? Does a motor that meets the GB18613-2020 standard and falls into energy efficiency level 3 qualify as an energy-saving motor? Thank you

The energy efficiency level of motors must meet the requirements of standard GB18613-2020. This new standard sets IE3 as the minimum requirement for level 3 energy efficiency, and it explicitly prohibits the production and sale of three-phase asynchronous motors with an energy efficiency below the IE3 threshold (such as YE2 series motors). What we usually call energy-saving motors is actually inaccurate; they should be motors that meet energy efficiency standards. Any motor that falls within the energy efficiency range should be considered an energy-saving motor. Personal opinion, let’s learn together*.
