According to the \"Design Code for Detection and Alarm of Flammable and Toxic Gases in Petrochemical Industries\" GB50493-2009, 4.2.1 When the source of emission is located in an outdoor area or within a equipment area with an open layout, the distance between the detection points and the source of emission should comply with the following requirements: 1. When the detection point is located on the upwind side of the wind direction with the lowest frequency of emissions, the distance between the flammable gas detection point and the source of emission should not exceed 15 m, while the distance between the toxic gas detection point and the source of emission should not exceed 2 m; 2. When the detection point is located on the downwind side of the wind direction with the lowest frequency of emissions, the distance between the flammable gas detection point and the source of emission should not exceed 5 m, and the distance between the toxic gas detection point and the source of emission should not exceed 1 m. So how should the protection radii of the detector and the release source be set in other directions?
What is your reason for putting it in another direction!
Like many outdoor devices, pipe flanges are available in sets. Can’t the detector installed only detect leak sources along the wind direction, and not those on the left or right sides?
The position of the detector should be set in accordance with the specifications, on the upwind or downwind side of the wind direction at the minimum frequency; then, with that setting point as the center and the corresponding distance as the radius, it should lie within the protection area
Suppose there is a device that is not on the line representing the minimum wind frequency, at a distance of 3 meters from the detector – can it be detected?; It is 6m away from the detector. Can it be detected?
I’m not sure if it’s possible with a side wind!
They require it to be placed near the source of release; why would you put it somewhere else? The source of release is well-defined.
Firstly, this issue has been resolved with the new regulations; the new rules only require a detection radius, and wind direction is no longer a factor. Secondly, are you planning to place a detector near each release source? As long as it is within the detection radius
