At present, hazardous chemical manufacturing enterprises in our country experience frequent accidents; therefore, it is essential to pay great attention to safety production inspections and tests. We should gradually explore and understand the safety performance of products and devices related to personal safety, and step by step establish an important role in safety production testing and inspection. Now, through safety inspections, a great deal of technical support can be provided to enterprises dealing with hazardous chemicals. In particular, electrical explosion-proof safety inspections should be widely promoted to continuously offer guidance and services for the safe production of these enterprises. 1. Unreasonable design in hazardous areas: Many enterprises are constrained by their historical background, and at the same time, the production materials used in these enterprises keep changing, which results in an irregular classification of hazardous areas and a chaotic layout. The arrangement of equipment and facilities does not meet the requirements for explosion prevention. 2. The understanding of explosion-proof knowledge is relatively weak. In many hazardous chemicals enterprises, electrical explosion-proof safety inspections are not distinguished from fire protection electrical and building electrical inspections; practices related to temporary power use and hot work, as well as equipment replacement and electrical management systems, are all carried out in an irregular manner. 3. Improper installation of explosion-proof electrical equipment: Although many companies now equip their electrical systems with explosion-proof features, there are still numerous issues regarding installation. These include direct wiring of main circuits, missing screws on the explosion-proof surfaces, and the use of PVC pipes for routing wires in pipelines. Moreover, the installation of things such as switches and sockets, wiring terminals, power and lighting distribution boxes, grounding systems, cable routing, and electrical wiring systems is not very proper, resulting in numerous safety issues. 4. The wiring of explosion-proof electrical circuits does not meet the requirements. In explosive environments, most companies do not pay enough attention to the proper wiring of explosion-proof electrical circuits; they fail to properly understand the technical parameters related to hazardous materials in such areas, and often wire things arbitrarily. 5. Improper grounding of explosion-proof electrical equipment: For the grounding of such equipment, there are mainly internal neutral connection, protective grounding of the enclosure, and anti-static grounding. The protective grounding of the non-energized metal enclosures is often not done properly; it is common for the grounding wires to be connected to material pipelines. 6. There is a lack of overall planning for explosion-proof areas in the location selection of power distribution rooms and control rooms; many of these rooms are located within explosion-proof zones without appropriate explosion-proof measures in place. 7. The selection and requirements for explosion-proof characteristics of explosion-proof electrical equipment are not appropriate; in electrical explosion-proof systems, there is no distinction between environments with flammable dust and those with explosive gases – these types of equipment are used together. In different hazardous environments, there are varying electrical explosion-proof standards, as well as different explosion-proof markings and types. Additionally, the levels and temperature categories also vary. Many companies use explosion-proof electrical equipment without taking these differences into account.
